A woman pulled a ghost gun from her fanny pack and allegedly shot at hikers on Cowles Mountain during a heated argument on Sunday morning. The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of Golfcrest Drive and Navajo Road, prompting swift action from San Diego police, who arrested the woman shortly after the gunfire.

The suspect now faces serious charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. This incident highlights growing concerns over ghost guns—homemade firearms that lack serial numbers and regulation—and their potential to pose danger in public spaces.
