In a recent episode of the podcast “Conversations Different,” recent high school graduate Wesley Klum and University of New Mexico student Bo Wilson discuss their advocacy for gun safety legislation during New Mexico’s legislative session. As members of the national organization Students Demand Action, they represent a movement of high school and college students dedicated to combating gun violence across the United States, which boasts over 900 active groups nationwide.

During their conversation, Klum and Wilson elaborate on the challenges and experiences they’ve faced while lobbying for change in a climate where school shooter drills are becoming the norm. Their insights illuminate the urgency and determination of young activists as they seek to make their voices heard amidst growing concerns about youth violence in their communities.
