A 62-year-old Columbia man, Richard McDonald, is facing felony charges after allegedly brandishing a firearm in two distinct road rage incidents in February and March. In the first incident on February 1, McDonald reportedly followed another driver closely before weaving his vehicle and displaying a gun while on Interstate 70. Just days later, he is accused of speeding and drawing a firearm at another driver on Range Line Street when attempting to overtake her vehicle.

McDonald has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action, in addition to other misdemeanors related to reckless driving and failure to register his vehicle. He is currently held at Boone County Jail with a bond set at $30,000. The victims in both incidents have identified McDonald, raising serious concerns over the alarming rise of aggressive driving behavior leading to violent confrontations on the road.
