A Milwaukee police officer, Yang Lee, has joined a federal lawsuit against SIG Sauer after his service weapon, the P320, accidentally discharged, injuring his partner. Attorney Robert Zimmerman, representing Lee and over 100 others, notes that this firearm has reportedly fired without any trigger being pulled, raising serious safety concerns for law enforcement officers.

This lawsuit adds to the scrutiny surrounding the SIG Sauer P320, with 22 individuals, primarily from law enforcement, now participating in legal action against the manufacturer. The Milwaukee Police Department transitioned away from this model following multiple incidents, including one in which an officer’s gun discharged while in a holster, prompting claims for a recall and further compensation if safety issues are not addressed.
