As Chicago braces for warmer weather, community activists are sounding the alarm over a potential surge in gun violence, following the recent tragic fatalities of four children. Leaders from various organizations gathered at St. Sabina Church, where Pam Bosley of Purpose over Pain emphasized the urgent need for collective action to combat a disturbing trend that increasingly claims young lives.

In just a few weeks, the city has witnessed the shocking killings of two 13-year-olds and an 8-year-old, raising the total number of child fatalities from gun violence to at least nine this year. With data showing a seasonal rise in crime, community leaders are calling for increased parental accountability and offering resources like free gun locks to combat this troubling epidemic.
