Christopher Ivan White, 58, receives a 90-month prison sentence for illegal firearm possession connected to a shooting that occurred outside a local business. He pleaded guilty after shooting a man in the leg in April 2024, attempting to flee the scene while discarding the weapon, which ultimately led to his arrest along with cocaine possession.

The case, overseen by U.S. District Judge James C. Dever III, highlights concerns about illegal firearm possession among individuals with criminal histories, as White’s past convictions barred him from owning firearms. Acting U.S. Attorney Daniel P. Bubar emphasized the serious implications of White’s actions for community safety, a sentiment echoed by prosecutors in the case.
