Akron Man Sentenced for Violent Argument Incident

Shaun Jackson, a 48-year-old man from Akron, is sentenced to 10 to 12 years in prison after a violent altercation where he fired a gun and assaulted a companion. The incident occurred on October 13, 2023, when Jackson, during a heated argument, shot through the windshield of a car containing three others and then struck a passenger in the face with the firearm, resulting in significant injuries.

Jurors convicted Jackson of multiple charges, including felonious assault and aggravated menacing, emphasizing the severity of his reckless behavior. Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich commended the bravery of the victims for testifying, stating that their actions were crucial in holding Jackson accountable for his dangerous choices that could have cost lives.
