A man is dead after being shot by police in Salt Lake City, following an incident where he allegedly attacked an officer with a knife. The incident unfolded on Saturday night when officers responded to reports of a woman screaming and were subsequently assaulted by the man, prompting them to use lethal force.

According to the Springville City Police Department, medical aid was administered at the scene, but the man later died at the hospital. Meanwhile, the officer who was stabbed received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released. The incident is still under investigation, and more details are expected to emerge.
