Two teenagers are charged with armed robbery following their arrest while allegedly attempting to steal from the cash register at Geste Beer & Wine in Bethesda. Police linked the suspects to three separate armed robbery incidents that occurred over a three-day period, where they reportedly threatened store employees with an implied firearm.
Officers identified the suspects during a patrol and apprehended them before they could escape. In addition to facing two counts of armed robbery and one count of robbery, the teens have been referred to the Department of Juvenile Services and are currently detained at a youth facility. The incidents have raised concerns over safety in the downtown area, as authorities work to prevent further thefts.
