The shotguns that you are used to seeing come from Derya USA are radically modern semi-auto designs intended for self-defense and action-shooting competitions. In this light, two of the company’s recent introductions showcase a decidedly traditional turn. The EX1300 and EX1400 are wood-stocked, break-action shotguns designed for the skeet range or hunting field.
The EX1300 is a break action, over-under shotgun. It uses a steel monoblock steel receiver that has a nickel finish. The tang-mounted safety also functions as a barrel selector in combination with a single selective trigger. Automatic ejectors remove spent hulls. Barrels have a black chrome finish with a vented top rib and fiber optic front sight.

Its premium Turkish walnut stock is checkered and is designed for right or left-handed shooters. The EX1300 is available in three chamberings. The 12 gauge and .410 bore models have 28-inch barrels. Models chambered in 20 gauge have 26-inch barrels. All models ship in a padded case with three Mobil-pattern choke tubes. Regardless of chambering, they have an MSRP of $699.

The EX1400 is a 12-gauge break action, side-by-side shotgun. It uses a monoblock steel receiver with separate sideplates and external hammers operated by dual triggers. Despite using external hammers, the shotgun also has a tang-mounted sliding safety. Steel parts have a black chrome finish.

The 24-inch barrels are threaded for Mobil-pattern choke tubes (three are supplied with each shotgun) and have a simple brass bead front sight. The stocks are made of walnut and checkered. The EX1400 weighs 6.61 pounds and has an overall length of 41 inches. It retails for $699.
