An Albany man has been sentenced to seven years in state prison for possessing two illegal firearms following an assault on a woman. Atiba Alfred, 26, was apprehended by police in March 2024 after officers witnessed him striking a woman multiple times and attempting to flee the scene. As he faces additional charges for the robbery, law enforcement is urging the community to remain vigilant about gun violence.
