Florida GOP Chairman Evan Power sharply criticizes Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan for allegedly maintaining an illegal registry of gun owners accessing city buildings. This accusation follows a State Attorney investigation that revealed subpoenas were issued to city leaders regarding the registry, which violates Florida law, stating that such lists can lead to profiling and abuse of law-abiding citizens exercising their Second Amendment rights. Power’s comments come amidst a backdrop of Florida’s recent permitless carry law, signed by Governor Ron DeSantis in 2023, which took effect on the same day Deegan took office. Skeptics of the proposed ban highlight statistical analyses suggesting that mass shootings remain complex phenomena, influenced by various factors…

(Continued from Part 1.) DETERMINING HOW LONG A PPS CAN SUPPLY POWER To determine how long a fully-charged PPS will last, three things must be considered: 1.) The wattage of the device being powered 2.) How long you need it to run for, and 3.) The wattage capacity of the PPS battery. As previously mentioned, to simplify the math some of the battery rules are ignored such as maximum drawdown percentage of a battery and the energy loss when inverting from 12 Volts DC to 120 Volts AC. Two new bills in Maine seek to relax gun regulations around schools, allowing adults with permits to legally carry and discharge concealed firearms on school grounds. The sponsor argues this measure enhances safety, citing that many mass shootings occur in areas designated as gun-free zones, as highlighted by Gun Owners of Maine President Laura Whitcomb. In addition to allowing concealed carry, another proposed bill would permit gun owners to fire on private property within 500 feet of a school without fear of prosecution. Public testimony on these bills revealed no opposition, raising questions about the implications for school safety across…
