An 84-year-old man in Palm Bay has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting his adult son in the face during a weekly family visit. William Nowak, who serves as a caregiver for his wife and daughter, reportedly retrieved a handgun amid an argument with his son on December 9, leading to the violent incident. The son was quickly transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center for treatment, although his condition is currently unknown. Early Wednesday morning, two Cook County sheriff’s deputies narrowly escape injury when someone opens fire from a silver car outside Mount Sinai Hospital. The deputies were leaving the hospital around 3:30 a.m. when the incident occurred, with gunfire damaging the rear passenger door of their police vehicle but thankfully missing the officers aged 27 and 28. Police immediately launch a search for the silver car, which fled the scene heading east, and no arrests have been made. North Strabane police recover approximately 1,000 glassine stamp bags filled with suspected heroin, fentanyl, and xylazine during a routine traffic stop on December 9. The drugs were discovered in a vehicle along McClelland Road, leading to charges against two unidentified individuals for possession with intent to deliver and related offenses.
