At SXSW 2025, R&B artist Ginuwine teams up with Mark Barden, co-CEO of Sandy Hook Promise, to raise awareness about gun violence during a powerful live performance. The duo delivers an electrifying rendition of Ginuwine’s hit “Pony,” transforming it into a 10-minute jam that captivates the audience and highlights the event’s mission to prevent gun violence, which is claimed to have halted 18 school shootings since the initiative’s inception.

With his ensemble of six impeccably dressed musicians, Ginuwine revisits beloved tracks from the ’90s era and engages the crowd with covers of Prince’s “When Doves Cry” and Diddy’s “I Need a Girl Pt. 2,” remarking, “I didn’t do nothing wrong but make a hit.” Imbued with nostalgia and a call to action, the concert serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggles against violence while fostering a spirited atmosphere at the packed venue.
