A 27-year-old man from Griffin, Andrew Peebles, is arrested following an attempted armed robbery that escalated into a high-speed chase through Butts County. Authorities responded to reports of a shooting after Peebles allegedly attempted to rob a victim he met online, firing one shot and injuring the victim before fleeing the scene.
With a swift response from local law enforcement, Peebles was tracked down within 40 minutes of the shooting. He led deputies on a pursuit back to his home, where he attempted to evade capture before being taken into custody after a brief struggle. Peebles now faces charges including aggravated assault and armed robbery, with additional charges pending in Spalding County.
