A Livermore gun shop is back in business following a dramatic break-in where thieves utilized a vehicle to smash through the storefront, stealing dozens of handguns and several rifles. The incident, which occurred on October 25, resulted in approximately $40,000 in damages, prompting owner Damon Butts to take swift action to bolster security measures to prevent future crimes.
In the wake of the heist, Butts has committed significant resources to upgrade security, investing in high-tech systems, street bollards, and enhanced monitoring equipment. Livermore Police along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) are actively investigating the robbery, but as of now, no suspects or stolen merchandise have been recovered. Butts previously faced criminal attempts at his store, emphasizing the importance of security as he strives to ensure the safety of his business and community.
