Canada-based MDT Sporting Goods (MDT), a leader in the precision rifle chassis systems and shooting accessories, has acquired Lone Peak Arms and Leading Edge Machine. Both are firms headquartered in Hyde, Utah, and each company contributes to the design and manufacturing of Razor and Fuzion precision rifle action lines.

Lone Peak Arms, which was established in 2014, has a sterling reputation among competitive shooters, hunters and custom rifle builders for its lightweight, ultra-precise actions. All are produced at Leading Edge Machine’s CNC operation.

“At MDT, everything we do is driven by one purpose; to help you take your best shot,” said MDT CEO Maarten Van Ruitenburg. “The acquisitions of Lone Peak Arms and Leading Edge Machine bring both world-class rifle actions, and added machining capabilities into our group, giving our customers access to a more complete precision shooting ecosystem in one place. We’ve always believed that every shooter deserves the best tools to perform at their highest level, and these partnerships allow us to deliver on that promise like never before. From chassis systems to actions to everything in between, with MDT, you can always take your best shot.”

Operations at Lone Peak Arms and Leading Edge Machine will continue with no personnel changes. Customers can expect continuity in product availability, service and the engineering excellence Lone Peak is known for, with the added benefit of MDT’s expanded resources.

MDT (Modular Driven Technologies) was founded in 2009 by Laszlo Kelementis, a machinist with a passion for competitive shooting. The company operated out of Chilliwack, British Columbia, in the beginning and its first real introduction—the MDT TAC-21—quickly put the company on the radar of shooters and gunmakers alike.

Since then it has opened operations in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and now in Utah. MDT has grown to become a major OEM supplier for rifle manufacturers and its chassis systems are employed by military and law enforcement agencies across the globe.
