New For 2026: Canik Mete MC9 Prime Radian

Canik has made its name in the handgun market, first by offering value and then by combining it with innovation. The company’s micro-compact, striker-fired, polymer-frame Mete MC9 Prime combined full-capacity with a compact overall package that was compensated. New for 2026, Canik is further enhancing the design with the Prime Radian.

The Canik Prime Radian combines the features of the Prime pistol introduced last year with a Radian Weapons Afterburner compensator and Ramjet barrel.

The new pistol pairs Canik’s 9 mm Prime pistol with a Radian Weapons Afterburner compensator and Ramjet ported barrel. According to Radian, this setup “provides unprecedented recoil reduction and match grade accuracy in a concealed carry package.” The 3.8-inch barrel and compensator are paired with a shortened slide, so that the compensator sits nearly flush with the end of the frame’s dustcover. Radian’s unique Intra-Lok design is threadless, allowing for removal of the compensator for disassembly and cleaning while remaining 50-state-legal.

While the original Mete Prime is compensated, the Prime Radian adds a Radian Afterburner compensator.
The Radian Afterburner compensator helps control recoil in a micro-compact handgun package.

Despite being a slim micro-compact, the MC9 Prime series is a “crossover”-size pistol, combing a full-size grip length that accommodates a flush-fit, 17-round magazine with a compact slide and barrel length. It has an overall length of 6.9 inches and a height of 5.45 inches, weighing 24.7 ounces.

Other features introduced on the original Prime are also present on the Prime Radian. These include an optics-ready slide that uses a direct-mount Shield RMSc footprint, along with Night Fision tritium iron sights, a flat-faced trigger and fully ambidextrous controls. The Prime Radian adds a Radian-designed magazine well and backstrap texturing.

Other key features of the Prime Radian include Radian Weapons-designed backstrap texturing and magwell.
The Canik Prime Radian has ambidextrous slide release levers and a reversible magazine release. It is available in either a black or gray (pictured) finish.

The Canik Prime Radian is available with either a black or gray colored frame. Versions equipped with 10-round magazines are also available for restricted locales. All variants have an MSRP of $900. It will also be available paired with Canik’s Onyx C miniature red-dot optic, factory-mounted for a retail price of $1,080. For more information, see the company’s website.
