Every gun owner runs into the problem eventually. They buy a safe, thinking it’ll give them all the room they’ll ever need for their gun collection. Then, one day, after they find that one rifle they just can’t live without, now the safe door just doesn’t quite want to close. Before rushing out and taking up floor space with another gun safe, here are five products that will help you buy a bit more room in your existing safe.

1. You might customize your safe door’s storage, only to decide you’d like it a different way. To that end, Wilde Custom Gear’s MOLLE Gun Safe Door Panel Organizer is made to order, meaning it will fit the inside your safe door perfectly, and you can directly attach clip-on items like holsters or indirectly attach nearly anything using MOLLE straps. Wilde laser-cuts the MOLLE cutouts into the 1000D Cordura material for a sleeker appearance. The panel attaches to your door via hook-and-loop and/or optional grommets. Foam-core (for heavier loads) and wrap-around (for existing organizers) are also available. MSRP: $130.75 as shown; wildecustomgear.com

2. From a company known for its well-thought-out safes and safe accessories, the SecureIT Gun Safe Retrofit Kits will let you store long guns neatly and even more tactically, as they’re better positioned in an easy-to-grab style, with all accessories still mounted on the gun. You can also adapt the height of the cradles for each gun as needed. The retrofit kit includes a safe panel (with a mounting kit), two cradles and a stock base, which will hold two long guns. MSRP: $59.99; secureitgunstorage.com

3. Patriot Patch Co.’s Magnetic Patch Panels let you collect all the patches you could want to decorate your safe—and the company has a ton of fun, high-quality patches to choose from should you want more (and even a patch-of-the-month club for the truly obsessed). These magnets are strong enough to stay up even with weighty items attached to them, though, so they can serve as extra storage space for anything that might attach via hook-and-loop. The patch panels come in a variety of colors and in two sizes. MSRP: $14.99 to $19.99 per patch panel (patches not included); patriotpatch.co

4. Gun Storage Solution’s Rifle Rod System isn’t exactly new, but it’s the kind of simple-but-brilliant solution you need for solving safe clutter. The rods allow you to store long guns upright without having to lean them against a wall or support. You can instead line them up neatly in rows, utilizing all the available space. Simply attach the hook-and-loop panel to the bottom of an upper shelf (which may require staples, glue or screws, depending on your shelf type), insert the rod into the gun’s barrel and then hook the rod wherever you want it. MSRP: $21.95 (5 rods) to $139.95 (40 rods); storemoreguns.com

5. Looking for a way to store something extra—like a range bag, binoculars or a pistol case—right on the outside of your safe (or inside, should you have metal shelves and the space to accommodate)? The Hornady Security Magnetic Safe Hooks hold a surprising amount of weight (35 pounds) with heavy-duty magnets, so your stuff should stay right where you put it. MSRP: $43.99 (set of 2); store.hornady.com
