Authorities have identified Eric Kulakow, a 59-year-old suspect who was fatally shot by San Diego Police Department snipers during a standoff on March 25. The situation escalated when Kulakow allegedly threatened construction workers and a pest-control employee with a handgun before pointing the weapon at officers, prompting SWAT intervention.

Following approximately an hour of negotiations, Kulakow reportedly ignored orders to drop his weapon, leading officers to open fire when he pointed the gun at them. The motivations behind his actions remain unclear as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
