Armed Citizen® Today

Two business owners were involved in a defensive altercation at their Houston, Texas, shop after discovering a burglary suspect on their security cameras.

The owners, one man and one woman, were near their business when they were alerted to the presence of an unknown individual at their shop. The couple called police and then sped over to the scene, arriving at the location before police. The couple found the alleged burglar in the same location as indicated on the camera and confronted the suspect. Reportedly, the suspect became aggressive, so the male business owner fired once in self-defense, hitting the burglar in the stomach.

The suspect, who is in his 40s, was taken to an area hospital for treatment and is expected to survive his wounds. The business owners said they had been having theft issues at their shop previously, prompting them to install the security camera. “He found out tonight that he doesn’t get away with everything,” one of the owners told reporters.
