ERGO Grips joined thousands of walkers nationwide this fall for the annual Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Team ERGO walked in loving memory of company founder Stephen Hines and his wife, Barbara, both of whom battled dementia in their later years.

The group was part of the nearly 800 community members for the Albuquerque, N.M. walk. It was one of the nation’s largest events, raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research focused on finding effective medical treatment and preventive measures.

Team ERGO proudly wore custom purple shirts dedicated to Steve and Barbara and carried photos celebrating their legacy. It raised more than $2,100, exceeding their fundraising goal. Every dollar raised helps support victims of Alzheimer’s and their families, and helps move scientists closer to finding long-sought solutions.

Stephen “Steve” Hines founded Falcon Industries in the ’90s with a vision to design the best firearm grips. His 26 patents are a testament to his creativity and drive to make a difference in the industry. He and Barbara are dearly missed by all who know them.

Stephen Hines died in 2024, only a year after the company he founded celebrated its 25th anniversary. His daughter, Mira O’Connell, took over the reins of the firm as CEO in 2019. Falcon Industries, dba ERGO Grip, remains family-owned to this day. Its mission-focused accessories are a popular choice for civilian, law enforcement and government use worldwide. The company operates out of a 16,000-square-foot facility in Moriarty, N.M.
