In the mid-19th century, the French military had developed some new firearm designs to take advantage of what was then the novel concept of a self-contained cartridge. Initially, like many militaries, the French converted existing military muzzleloaders to…

00:00:00 Speaker 1: So I usually, like if I’m going straight for performance stuff, I do sauna usually by itself at night before bed, and then if I do contrast, yeah, I’ll pair it up. 00:00:10 Speaker 2: But the cold, I. 00:00:12 Speaker 1: Think the cold is probably the most misused thing. And there’s also like all this it’s funny that you know the studies about lifting and not doing clunch right after. I mean that originally came out in two thousand and nine. That’s like not new new science, and it makes sense. It’s like you know,…

Background I travel for work, often traveling all over the word into some not-so-friendly environments where I don’t want to be a target but I still need to remain capable. I’ve interviewed behaviorists about the science behind being memorable and I’ve also spoken with members of certain 3-letter-agencies about what they’ve learned about traveling in austere environments. This short essay is an aggregate of that information that is easily consumable and understandable. In the world of tactical preparation and survivalism, there is a pervasive image of the “operator”, that is; someone decked out in multicam patterns, sporting morale patches, and…

Canada-based MDT Sporting Goods (MDT), a leader in the precision rifle chassis systems and shooting accessories, has acquired Lone Peak Arms and Leading Edge Machine. Both are firms headquartered in Hyde, Utah, and each company contributes to the design and manufacturing of Razor and Fuzion precision rifle action lines. While I appreciate the overall usefulness of the M-Lok system, it requires a certain amount of finesse, patience and mechanical aptitude that I simply do not seem to possess. Adding an accessory with an M-Lok attachment point to a slot on a rifle’s fore-end means setting up the depth exactly right—and I can never seem to do that properly. I either set it too deep, in which case I get the two screws through the M-Lok slot and spin them endlessly; or I set it too shallow, in which case I put the screws through, can’t tighten it and have…
The United States Army dates its founding to June 14, 1775, after the Second Continental Congress proclaimed that the 20,000 militiamen arrayed outside of the city of Boston were officially soldiers in the Continental Army. Across 250 years of history, the actions of the Army have been closely intertwined with the direction and growth of the United States as a nation, and at the heart of it all was the soldier and his longarm. Watch our “American Rifleman Television” feature segment above to hear the story of the U.S. military’s first longarms, the smoothbore muskets. “After the events of April…

00:00:02 Speaker 1: Hey, everyone, Welcome to the Foundation’s podcast. I’m your host, Tony Peterson, and today is all about when reality crashes into our dreams of perfect dogs and perfect hunts and what that means for our off season. You know how everyone is just super pissed off lately and we all want to kill each other and everything sucks. Well, part of that, at least in my extremely unprofessional opinion, stems from us just being exposed to so much BS in our lives. We go online and everywhere return. It’s propaganda mostly meant to either divide us or…
